Dr. Masako Mizuno (aka Dr. Masako or Dr. M) Dr Mizuno was born in a small city near Tokyo, Japan. She graduated from a veterinary school at Azabu University in Japan in 1992. Dr. Masako worked at a veterinary teaching hospital at Azabu University where she cultivated her interest in cardiology, soft tissue surgery, and oncology from 1992 to 1996. Afterwards she worked as a small animal practitioner in Japan for several years before moving to Canada. Dr. Masako studied Clinical pathology as a graduate diploma student at University of Guelph in 2004, and completed her veterinary license in Canada. She has keen interest in feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, cancer treatment and dentistry. Dr. Masako has been the owner of several pets through out her life. She currently lives in North Vancouver and is proud mom of two cats.
Dr. Sandhu Dr. Sandhu holds a post graduation degree (MVSc) in Veterinary Microbiology from College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry in Punjab (India). After completing his post graduation he joined the Punjab Government's Veterinary Department and served as a veterinary officer.Then he migrated to Canada and pursued his career as a small animal practitioner. Dr. Sandhu has interest in preventive veterinary medicine and ophthalmology. He has keen interest in the administrative aspect of the veterinary practice as he wants to improve the level of veterinary care provided to the pets and their owners.
Joe (Lead Veterinary Assistant) Joe grew up in Perth (Western Australia). Her parents always kept pets in their family. Joe as a kid, knew that she will pursue her career with animals. After her high school, she began volunteering at a local veterinary clinic and soon started studying companion animals to become a Veterinary Nurse. Joe loves being a veterinary nurse and always wants to improve her skills further so that she can help the sick pets as much as possible.
Kassandra (Receptionist) Kassandra comes from Sydney, Austaralia. She has been living in beautiful British Columbia over the last two years. Kassandra is a qualified Veterinary Nurse. Before coming to Canada, she worked at a veterinary clinic in Australia for 3 years. She loves her profession especially meeting the people and their pets. She recently moved to Vancouver and joined our veterinary team
Lisa (Veterinary Assistant) Lisa is an avid animal enthusiast, born and raised in Vancouver BC. She received her BSc Honors in Biology at UBC in 2016, with a focus in animal physiology. Lisa hopes to achieve her dream of becoming a veterinarian in the future and meanwhile is working hard to take care of the lovely cats and dogs as a Veterinary Assistant at West Vancouver Veterinary Hospital. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys volunteering at a wild life rehabilitation center, as well as playing ultimate Frisbee and music.
Cheryl (Veterinary Assistant) Born and raised in North Vancouver, Cheryl knew well in her early years that she wanted to be a vet.Currently in her third year at UBC studying Applied Animal Biology, she hopes to make that dream come true and pursue her studies in veterinary medicine.Her passion lies in companion animals, wild life, and being able to heal them.
Misaki (Groomer & Animal Nurse) Misaki has been an animal lover from her childhood. After her high school she studied grooming and animal nursing at a professional college in Japan for two years.Then she joined a veterinary hospital as an animal nurse and a groomer and got extensive experience in this field for 6 years. She joined our team in Aug 2016. Her goal is to provide an excellent grooming and spa experience to pets and make them happy. She likes the natural beauty in BC and enjoys that in her free time.
Katie (Kennel Assistant) Katie has lived in West Vancouver her whole life and is a third year student at UBC. She has always had a love for all pets and wildlife and would take any opportunity to work with them.One of her favourite things to do is run, and explore the beautiful hikes in the area with her two dogs , Dexter and Hallie
Lulu (Staff Supervisor/Professional Chair Warmer) Lulu is a 12 years old, calico girl. She has been working with us since 2012. Lulu's hobby is sleeping on the chair at the reception. She is very good at reducing Dr. Masako's stress level all the time.
