DENTISTRY

Regular dental cleaning will keep your pet's mouth healthy and prolong the teeth life. If a pet's tooth is painful he/she can't chew /hold food with that tooth. Such a tooth may need extraction or other appropriate treatment. We have in house digital radiography which enables us to diagnose the pathology underneath the gum and help us tailor the dental treatment as per need of your pet.
RECOMMENDATIONS

Pre-anesthetic Blood testing: We strongly recommend pre-anesthetic blood testing. This can help the veterinarian in diagnosing underlying disease conditions. Blood test also provides a base line data for future reference.
Peri-operative Fluids: We put an intravenous catheter before anesthesia and the sedated animal will get fluids in its vein during and after the surgical/dental procedures.Fluid maintains the organ per-fusion, corrects dehydration and maintains the blood pressure during anesthesia as all anesthetic drugs lead to a fall in blood pressure. An i/v catheter will keep the vein portal open and we can inject the emergency drugs in the vein in case an emergency arises during anesthesia. Fluids also help in quicker recovery after anesthesia.
We monitor the heart and respiratory rates, temperature, and blood pressure during all anesthetic procedures.
Important Note:Surgery and dentistry procedures need general anesthesia. We request that you drop your pet off between 8:00 & 9:00 a.m. This allows us time for presurgical blood work and other preparations. We also request that you withhold food after midnight the night before your pet's scheduled surgery. Please call us well in advance to book a time for a procedure and to get your questions answered if you have any.
